Unblocking sites at work or school - a guide
To unblock websites through filters, you need to use a proxy service. However, these can be confusing, and this guide aims to help those who are confused. Step 1 Head to your chosen proxy. In this example we will be using http://www.fighttheblock.com Step 2 Locate the URL bar (remember to click on any ads that interest you!) Step 3 Type into the URL bar the name of the site you want to visit. For example: http://www.myspace.com Step 4 Press enter. Your chosen site will load up. Be patient! Step 5 Enjoy! However, we understand that often things don’t go to plan. Unfortunately, we can’t fix every problem, but here are a few handy hints to try and get around problems. At the top, where you see a URL bar and lots of check boxes, find the one that says: ‘Remove scripts’. If it is ticked, untick it and then click ‘Go!’ next to the URL bar
See if there is another way to do what you want. For example, if you are clicking on a box that says ‘Login’ but it is not working, look for a link somewhere else that says ‘Login’ and try that
Still got problems? Tried more than one proxy? It looks like your site doesn’t work… sorry!
